On paper, they don’t look any different from your regular Core i5/i7-based notebooks, until you check out the displays that highlight the new designs. Called Shuriken display tech, the notebooks feature thinner screens that measure under 0.19mm thick, as well as frames that allow them to fit the P430’s 14-inch screen into a 13-inch notebook’s body, or the P530’s 15.6-inch screen into a notebook frame that you can actually lug around.

The reduced body size makes them relatively light for the screens that they rock, with the P430 weighing in at 4.28 pounds and the P530 at 4.85, but despite the focus on design, they’re still specced to perform with a Core i5 processor on the P430 and a Core i7 on the P530. Both feature Nvidia’s GeForce GT 520M graphics chips that can handle 3D games and high-end video playback.

No word on pricing for the two Blade notebooks, but the P430’s due out by the end of May, followed by the P530 in late June in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America. [via Electronista]
