Working Samsung Galaxy 8.9 turns up, gets previewed in Germany samsung galaxy tab 89 handson

When Samsung first unveiled the Galaxy Tab 8.9 along with the slim new Galaxy Tab 10.1 at CTIA, the unit they showed off looked like a dummy, or at least a prototype that the public couldn’t really get their hands on (it was behind a glass case at the time). Apparently, Samsung is done with putting up the finishing touches on their new tablet, because a working model just turned up in Germany during the weekend, where NewGadgets managed to record a quick hands-on video. It’s not a full preview of the Android 3.0 tablet, mind you, but it doesn’t look like it’s necessary since it doesn’t differ much from the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (but obviously, this one’s smaller). It definitely looks sexy though. And while no one pulled out a ruler to get an official ruling, it does look like it’s really slimmer than the iPad 2. Video after the break.

It shouldn’t be long before this model gets launched. It’s expected out this summer, but the larger (but still amazingly slim) Galaxy Tab 10.1 is due out next month.  [NewGadgets.de, via Engadget]
