Leak: Nintendo to cut Wii price down to $150 in May? Nintendo Wii 150 rumor

Yeah, it’s getting a little old, and while it never had the best spec when it was first introduced to compete with the PS3 and Xbox 360, it sure had a lot of unique, fun games, and it was certainly way cheaper than the competition. Right now? It’s still up against the PS3 and Xbox 360, but with graphics that’s looking more outdated by the week and the competition getting their own motion-controlled games, things aren’t looking up for the aging Wii. According to an Engadget source, Nintendo plans to drop the Wii’s price down to $150 on May 15 though, just a few weeks before E3.

The reasons for the $100 price drop weren’t mentioned, but it does make sense since you could buy an Xbox 360 Arcade for $199 these days. Whether they’re prepping to unveil or announce a new console is still unknown.

The reasons really shouldn’t matter much to you, right? We’re just happy to be able to buy yesterday’s console on the cheap… next month.
