Because demand for Apple’s new tablet has been nothing short of crazy. It doesn’t look like there’s a supply shortage this time, but it does look like they weren’t prepared for the demand, causing Apple’s online store to list a delivery of 2-3 weeks within a few hours into launch day. The situation hasn’t changed though. The online store is currently listing ship dates of 4-5 weeks for all models, while retail stores have either sold out or currently have a handful of unwanted 3G models on hand.
