Apple has just made iMovie and GarageBand available on iTunes for $4.99 each, right on time, just as expected, and probably more awesome that we first thought (if that’s at all possible, since we already think they’re pretty awesome). Perfect for anyone lucky enough (or determined) enough to spring for an iPad 2 early on launch day.
The updated iMovie will run on Apple’s latest iOS devices (iPhone 4, iPod touch 4th gen, and iPad 2), while the new mobile version of Apple’s GarageBand will only work on the iPad (both first and second gen iPads supported). If you want an in-depth look into the two apps to check on whether they’re worth your five bucks, check out Apple’s Guided Tour videos here. (By the way, the short answer is: yes, both apps are well worth the five bucks.)
