Another info leak about the iPad 2 just surfaced recently, just a few days before Apple officially unveils it at their March 2 event. A few details have been confirmed, while some have been confirmed to be dropped—at least on this next iPad. Specifically, Engadget’s source said that it’s going to be sleeker and slimmer with a rounded back, and faster, powered by a new A5 CPU and 512MBs of RAM.
The SD card slot that was previously assumed to be included (thanks to a number of case leaks) won’t make it to the final version. Same goes for the high-res screen because of “engineering issues,” so we should probably expect the new iPad to come with its predecessor’s screen resolution. The frame will most likely still come equipped with FaceTime cameras too, confirming the leaked shots of iPad 2 cases we’ve seen that featured camera holes at the back.
