You were aware that Dell put out an ultraportable laptop called the Adamo 13 that was supposed to compete in the MacBook Air’s slim-and-stylish notebook space, right? No? Apparently, not a lot of people went for the MacBook Air rival either, evidenced by a lot of cuts that saw the Adamo 13’s price drop from four figures down to $799 (by our last count), which may or may not have succeeded in clearing their remaining Adamo stock. Anyway, they finally laid the Adamo 13 to rest and won’t be selling the aluminum-clad 3-pounder anymore.
Trying to search for the 13-inch, Core 2 Duo and Windows 7-powered ultraportable at Dell’s online store now will get you a message that says it’s no longer available, but you’ll be advised to check out Dell’s XPS 15 and 17 instead. They won’t be as light and probably not as stylish, but they’ll run circles around the now-extinct notebook in terms of performance. Performance was what you were looking for, right? Because if you really wanted a thin notebook, you’d probably be hitting Apple’s MacBook Air page. [from CNET, via Electronista]
