Sony’s PlayStation app for Android and iPhone isn’t what you think Playstation App 3

Sony’s PlayStation blog revealed that they’re working to put out an official PlayStation app for Android and iOS. If you’re a gamer, that’s awesome news, right? Unfortunately, it’s not quite as awesome as you might have imagined it to be (assuming that you imagined that a PlayStation app would let you download PlayStation gamers for Android and iOS). So yeah. No actual games here. The PlayStation mobile app will simply give you updates on your PlayStation gaming world. Specifically, the app will link with your PS Network account for checking the trophies that you might or might not need to check regularly, as well as friends’ games and online status.

The first version of the app will also give you news, latest games and hardware, announcements on the Euro Playstation Blog, with links to your Facebook, Twitter and email accounts in case there’s something in there you want to share with your network.

Nothing to see here for the average casual gamer. But if you’re a hardcore PS gamer, this one’s for you, bud. Just lay off on the Facebook and Twitter updates. That’s annoying.
