Leak: LG’s Android based Star runs fast, packs HDMI LG Star leak 4

New details of LG’s still-unreleased Star smartphone just leaked out, showing a benchmark test, as well as a clear view of the phone’s exterior and possible interface. The particular unit shown in the leaked photos show it running on a tweaked version of 2.2 Froyo (although it’s expected to be upgraded to Gingerbread by the time it launches), and is built around Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 platform. The result? Benchmark scores that pretty much topped the current crop of Androids in performance, leaving the Nexus One, Droid X and HTC Evo in the dust. Looks awesome if you’re into performance scores, but if that’s not what tickles your fancy, it still looks pretty high-end. More photos and details after the break.

A complete spec list still isn’t available, but the more obvious details include an 8MP main cam, microSD slot for expansion, 1500mAh battery, plus an HDMI port up top that could let it play 1080p on a larger screen. As far as release dates go, it’s still a mystery, but an appearance at CES in January is likely. [via Phandroid]
