It hasn’t been released yet, but this early preview of the BlackBerry PlayBook’s performance shows how it performs against the iPad in terms of doing browser-based tasks. And it looks like a winner, folks—at least for the type of tasks shown. The demo was made by a member of RIM’s browser group though, so the tasks lean towards the PlayBook’s strengths. Nevertheless, it does look mighty tasty as an alternative to the iPad, especially if you value a tablet’s web browsing capabilities more than anything else (or at least more than app variety or screen size). For those purposes, it’s shown to render pages faster, and it can handle Flash which is something that the iPad just can’t do without a hack (and even with that, it bugs out).
