7 inch Motopad to be lead tablet for Android 3.0? twitter Motopad rumor

It looks like Motorola’s upcoming Motopad is going to be the flagship tablet for Google’s Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) OS. Or at least according to a leak from Mobile-Review. Besides the short Twitter update, there’s no real info to back up the claim, but it does tie into an earlier report from a few months back about Google teaming up with Motorola (who was also the first to come out with Android 2.0 with the Droid) for their Android 3.0 tablet. So yeah, there’s a big possibility that we’re all going to see another tablet with “pad” in it’s name sometime next year.

Specifics past “who’s going to make it?” is still up in the air at this point, but the first Honeycomb-based Motopad is rumored to come with a portable 7-inch screen (which makes it entirely different from another rumored 10-inch Moto tablet called the “Stingray”) that could be powered by Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 250 platform to give it 1080p playback. Release dates are also unknown, but it’s expected to bump heads with the next-gen iPad when it comes out in 2011.
