Specs for the Motorola Droid 2 Global (a.k.a. the World Edition), a more world-friendly version of the Droid 2 that’s expected to eventually replace the Droid 2 on Verizon, just got leaked. That, and the spec sheet’s official Droid-looking background, pretty much puts it a step short of being considered official.

So what’s new? Well, this confirms that the phone’s indeed going to run on a 1.2GHz processor, which makes it the fastest smartphone you can put it in your pocket right now. Or at least when it officially launched. Aside from the faster CPU, the rest of the key features have been kept, including the Android 2.2 OS, 5MP cam, 720p video, and 8GB storage.

On the outside, it’s going to come in a new winter white color along with the existing dark sapphire scheme. Not that big of a change, but adding a white color option is at least something it has over the iPhone 4 (besides the fast processor, of course). The info sheet also comes with a handy comparison that lines the Global against the iPhone 4, Samsung Fascinate, and HTC’s Droid Incredible, in case you need to be pushed the right direction the next time you’re shopping for a smartphone.

The Droid 2 Global will also add a quad-band antenna that’ll let you travel to wherever, and a preinstalled QuickOffice installation that’ll let you do work-type things while you globe-trot.

No launch dates or pricing details yet, but the Global is expected to launch any time now. [via Droid Life]
