Hate to break it to you, potential-white-iPhone-buyer, but it looks like you won’t get your white iPhone 4 til next year. After promising an end-of-the-year release, it looks like Apple’s having supply problems with the white iPhone 4, causing a further delay that pushes the white’s release further back to spring 2011. Specifically, the supplier can’t get the shade of white for the front plate and home button to match. It might not sound like a big deal to you, but it’s the kind of meticulous attention to detail that makes Apple what they are.
Anyway, here’s the official word from Apple rep Trudy Miller:
“We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone again.”
So there you go. Either get a black one like everyone else, spend a little extra to get your regular black one white-ified, or wait til the official white iPhone 4 gets released sometime next year. But if you can wait for that, then it might be a better idea to just wait for the next iPhone to come out.
