Looking to get a little crazy with the several million bucks you have lying around? Here’s an idea: pass on the free bumper case Apple hands out with a new iPhone 4, cover it in gold plating and pack it with diamonds. A lot of em. Like what British designer Stuart Hughes did here. The result? An iPhone 4 with a rose gold-plated back plate, 500 individual diamonds amounting to 100 carats, and a choice between a 7.4ct pink diamond or a rare 8ct flawless diamond on the home button, making for the world’s most expensive phone amounting to £5 million (around US$8 million).
The edge is totally covered in icy bling, which just might solve that pesky antenna gap so it looks like an effective solution, so the Australian businessman who reportedly bought two at least doesn’t have to cover it up in a cheap bumper case. But really, if you don’t have anything else to do with all that money, how about doing a Bob Barker and toss a few million to these guys instead? It saves the whales, it makes for awesome reality TV for everyone else, and we won’t laugh at you for spending that much money on a phone that’ll be replaced with a better model next year (we hear diamonds are good to last though, so kudos for that).
