Rumor: 7 inch iPad might come with a Retina Display, USB port, and up to 128GB storage? iPad angleMore 7-inch iPad news from Taiwan has just surfaced, this time giving listing a number of improvements over the existing model. According to Taiwanese component suppliers, the 7-inch iPad will feature a camera that’ll allow the iPad to FaceTime with iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G users, a high-resolution Retina Display, and up to 128GBs of storage, which is double the max capacity of the current iPad.

According to the analyst that contacted the suppliers, the smaller iPad will also include one more thing that isn’t on any of the current crop of iOS devices: a micro or mini USB port.

That USB port could be huge in terms of adding accessories and other add-ons. While the current iPad uses Apple’s usual 30-pin connector for to connect to accessories such as keyboards, it can only work with one accessory at a time. The USB port could pave the way for a wider range of accessories if the report turns out to be true.  [via AppleInsider]
