Here’s something unique from the Nokia World expo’s showroom floor: a (prototype) app that turns your HDMI-connecting display into a giant Nokia N8. You’re going to need a Nokia N8 to make it work though, since it makes use of the smartphone’s HDMI output and 12-megapixel cam. It basically shows a supersized version of the device’s interface on the HD display, and uses the N8’s cam to detect your hand movements, letting you “touch” and navigate the interface using your hand over the HD screen. The prototype still isn’t as accurate as it should be (as shown in the demo video after the break) for practical use, and we’re still not sure how we’d use it if it ever reaches that point, but it could get a lot of pretty interesting uses for doing presentations.
