Lenovo Le Pad, U1 Hybrid tablet is about to ship… in China Lenovo IdeaPad U1 HybridRemember Lenovo’s U1 Hybrid tablet/laptop with a detachable screen that was first unveiled way back in January? Well, it looks like Lenovo is finally about to ship it. Which is great timing by the way, now that the whole market has gone crazy about touchscreens and portable pads. Unfortunately, the word is that they’re going to ship the 10.1-inch LePad (the tablet half of the U1 Hybrid) in December, and the whole Hybrid kit that includes the keyboard half in January—in China. Which kind of LeSucks, since it looks like it could be LeAwesome.

Anyway, in case you were interested and happen to know someone in China who can ship one to wherever non-China country you’re at, they didn’t mention the spec and price, but if they’re still sticking with what was shown during the CES show in January, the LePad tablet will pack its own Snapdragon ARM processor, 512MB RAM, 16GBs of storage and Android OS for running on its own. When docked into the U1 keyboard part, the tablet turns into a full Windows 7 laptop with an Intel processor, 4GBs of memory, integrated Intel graphics and a larger 128GB SSD.
