Google got the Android logo from an old Atari game? Sure. Android logo from engadget

The internets have been ablaze after a tipser at Engadget found what could possibly be the basis of Google’s Android logo. Apparently—and really, there’s little doubt about it—Google found this character from an old Atari Lynx game called Gauntlet: The Third Encounter. Who really looks like a more fleshed-out version of the logo; with antennae, tiny eyes and all. Oh, and the old character was also named Android. Intellectual theft? We’re not quite sure. Was the logo based on this character? No doubt.

Doesn’t sound so shocking or zomg!-worthy to us, mind you. An Android logo that looks like a character named Android? Sounds fitting. Things have got to come from somewhere, right? It’s not like Apple just dreamt up the Apple logo after all. Maybe it’s just us, but Apple’s logo? Strangely looks like a fruit called an apple.
