Olympus’ black E P2 just got blacker with new all black kits Olympus Black E P2

Before anything else, let’s establish something: the retro-styled Olympus E-P2 that was first launched late last year already came in black, but the accessories usually came in silver. Let’s just say that the color combo just didn’t work, and it certainly spoiled the E-P2’s old school style. In case that was all that prevented you from picking up this Micro Four-Thirds cam—an awesome snapper to pack if you’re into more than just pointing-and-shooting, by the way—Olympus just announced a couple of all-black kits for the E-P2, which basically packs the cam along with matching black accessories.

Specifically, the all-black bundle includes a blackened version of the M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f2.8 pancake lens, a matching retro-styled lens cap with the company’s Pen “F” logo, and either the VF-2 electronic viewfinder for the E-P2 Special Black Flash Edition, or the FL-14 external flash accessory on the E-P2 Special Black EVF Edition.

The Black Flash Edition is priced at 1,079 euros (around US$1,365), while the EVF Edition costs 1,049 euros (around $1,325). Not necessarily groundbreaking news here unless you like black accessories to match your black stuff. But if you already own an E-P2, you can still pick up the classic black Pen “F” lens cap for 50 euros. If you don’t care much about the extra black EVF or external flash, you can just pick up the new all-black E-P2 for around $1,000 when it ships sometime in October.
