Specs and details for Toshiba’s Android based Folio 100 comes out early Toshiba Folio 100

It’s not clear how they got the info, but Notebook Italia just put out a full spec list, photos, and an official name (apparently, it’s going to be called the Folio 100) for Toshiba’s upcoming tablet before the official introduction. Looks pretty good too. The Android 2.2 OS and 10.1-inch widescreen (1024 x 600)  multitouch display was a bit predictable, but the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor looks like a good bonus if you’re into watching downscaled HD content on a tablet.

The rest of the listed spec includes 16GBs of internal memory, Wi-fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity, and integrated 1.3MP webcam and stereo speakers.

It looks like it could one-up the iPad on connectivity options too: the frame holds space for HMDI, USB 2.0 port, a mini USB port, and SD/MMC card slots. Oh, and Flash 10.1 support, thanks to the Froyo OS. Let’s—well, at least those of us who want a well-specced Android-based alternative to the iPad—just hope they don’t mess it all up by pricing it too high.

Also, unless the translation got messed up, it looks like Toshiba’s going to come out with their own app store as another source of apps besides the usual Android Marketplace.

We should know pricing and availability soon: Toshiba is expected to officially unveil the Folio 100 at IFA next week.
