Okay, it’s just a stand. Technically speaking, you can’t really turn a smartphone into a Mac. But Just Mobile’s Xtand for the iPhone & 3Gs looks awesome next to your average stand that looks like a couch or small flower-pot mobile-phone-stand that was made from an actual flower pot. The Mac part comes from the design—it’s made from solid aluminum, with a hole that makes it identifiable as something that just looks very Apple.
As for features, the photos pretty much say all that needs to be said about it: solid aluminum build, hole (for cable management), no-slip rubber feet and grips, and an adjustable business end that’ll let you tilt and rotate the phone for a better view. It’s pretty simple, really, but if you need to see it in “action,” check out the video.
Aside from being handy for watching hands-free videos, video calls, and avoiding having to hold it the wrong way, it’s not really a necessity though. Take away the nice design, and you’re left with an aluminum stand that does the same thing you can do with a couple of books. Or rocks. Just Mobile makes stands for just about everything else though; the UpStand for the iPad looks pretty handy.
