If you plan to get your hands on a Droid 2 by the end of the week, you might want to head over to Verizon’s Droid 2 page now and sign up. The virtual doors just opened, so it’s time to fall into the virtual line or face a long wait time that’s not so virtual in case initial supplies fall short for the Thursday launch. You can get the Droid X’s keyboard-packing cousin for $199 with a 2-year Verizon contract after a $100 rebate, or you can just shell out the full $560 if you want the phone without the Verizon line.
If you’re aiming for the R2-D2 Edition—which we hear will come decked in an external Star Wars-inspired Droidy design and exclusive content that’s due out next month—you’re going to have to wait a little bit more. You have to keep on top of the news since the window to get it is pretty small though; the limited edition phone will only be available online through September.
