This is still going on? We all thought Apple kind of made their point when they demonstrated that other phones (specifically, the BlackBerry Bold 9700, Droid Eris, and Samsung Omnia II) also suffered from the death grip, but apparently, there’s room for more when they added the Nokia N97 mini and now, the Droid X to the list. The video demo on Apple’s smartphone antenna performance page shows that even the great Droid X’s signal can be choked out if you hold it in that really awkward, I’m-determined-to-prove-a-point way.
Maybe this is the end of it though. As far as we can remember, Motorola and Nokia round out the brands who recently ripped on the iPhone 4’s signal problems. Samsung just put out a subtle new ad that’s still obviously Antennagate-related though, so we’re expecting to see the Galaxy S up there too.
Oh wait, Microsoft kind of made a little poke when they said that the iPhone 4 might be Apple’s “Vista,” so we might see a Microsoft Kin phone being choked in the future as well. Or maybe not. No one really cared about the Kin.
