The empire strikes back: Apple shows the Nokia N97 choking from the death grip   Nokia N97 mini death grip

Apple’s Antenna Performance page—the page they set up to demonstrate that every other smartphone suffers from the “death grip”—originally didn’t show a Nokia phone being death-gripped, but it has one now. We don’t know why it was suddenly put up, since the original demo’d death-gripped phones were limited to the BlackBerry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris, and Samsung Omnia II along with their own iPhone 4G and 3GS, but it does strengthen Apple’s point (if you’re into awarding points) that the death grip issue isn’t just Apple’s problem after all. Nokia did try to get all up in Apple’s face during the past few weeks when they posted their “you can hold our phones any way you want” blog post and official statement regarding Apple press conference, so maybe it’s just Apple’s way of hitting back.
