Dell’s Streak, basically a new line of touchscreen Android slate-slash-smartphone devices that range from five to 10-inchers, is just about ready to launch. Well, the 5-inch mobile Streak, at least. And that’s not a typo, either. It’s a phone that rocks a 5-inch screen, so if you thought the 4-inch Evo 4G or Droid X was huge, this makes the 3.5-inch iPhone look like a compact.
By the way, that’s a pre-sale page. Meaning, they’re not asking for early orders yet, but it’s the first step you’re going to have to take if you want to be one of the first to own one. Signing up now gives you a 24-hour heads-up before everyone can place an order as well as a 99-cent deal on a Plantronics Bluetooth Headset if you bundle it with a Streak.
Specs include a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5MP cam, Wi-fi, Bluetooth and 3G connection, but really, we’re just happy to see a 2010-era slate to not have the word “pad” anywhere on its name.
