The RetroN 3 will let you rock your living room like it was 1990

Stretch those thumbs and dust off those old NES, Super NES and SEGA Genesis catridges: this console will let you load ‘em up again. Hyperkin just released the RetroN 3 gaming system, a retro all-in-one console that’ll let you plug in your old Nintendo and SEGA game cartridges and original controllers.

The RetroN 3 features separate cartridge slots for serving up games from the classic Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo and SEGA Genesis systems, as well as two controller ports for each platform in case your decades-old pads still work. In case you’re just left with the cartridges (they have a better chance of surviving two decades gathering dust in your attic), the kit also comes with a pair of wireless controllers that should work with any of the old systems—although they’re designed in the SEGA Genesis mold.

Of course, there are a number of ways to still get your classic gaming fix, such as emulators for just about any gaming, handheld, or desktop platform you can think of, but this gives you the chance to dust off your old stuff and rock your living room like you did in the olden days, when flatscreen TVs were still a dream and “3D” meant cheap red-and-blue tinted glasses.

A word of warning though: this kit is so ‘retro’ that it won’t have any of the new connection interfaces or support for digitally stored or downloaded emulators and ROMS. You’re going to need actual game cartridges from the time when NBA players rocked the short shorts-and-bike-shorts combo and neon colors were cool. HDMI need not be applied—it connects to a TV via S-video and composite AV connections.

The RetroN 3 is available in red or black colors for $70.

Also, here’s something awesome that could help you remember the good ‘ol days:
