Canon unveiled something interesting at the Shanghai World Expo called the Wonder Camera Concept. Much like concept cars, it comes with a weird future-y shape that may or may not appeal to pro photographers and hardcore enthusiasts (we’re banking on “no”), but comes with a tech that’ll make life easier for anyone who ever had to camp out for hours in a spot waiting for “the perfect shot.”
Basically, the Wonder Camera combines photo and video captures with an insanely fast focus, huge storage and high resolution tech that’ll allow you to pick out a clear frame from captured videos. So yeah, no more selective pointing and shooting. Just hit ‘record’ and point the business end towards the action and sort it all out later.
They didn’t give out any specifics, so no one knows exactly what kind of storage, lens, or sensor resolution it’ll be packing. It’s still a concept though, basically serving as a preview of what we could be lugging to tourist traps 20 years from now.
