A point for the ‘droids: Droid X does Flash 10.1
Mobile Phones - Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Here’s a new video from Adobe, showing Motorola’s upcoming Droid X running Adobe’s Flash 10.1. Besides showing that yes, you get more of what the web has to offer on an Android 2.2-based phone while the iPhone will show you a small blue box in spaces where Flash-based games and streaming videos would have been.

That’s pretty much a given though; we’re sure iPhone owners have learned to live with that by now (at least we did), since the iPhone will still give you more apps than you’d need through the store anyway, and if you own a jailbroken phone, there’s still hope for us, by way of “Frash,” a hack that’ll enable Flash. But still, this demo shows that if you’re into mobile gaming, the Droids are looking pretty hot right now. Having native access to dozens of Flash-based game sites alone is huge.

Due out by July 15th, the Droid X will run on Android 2.1 out of the box, but is expected to get the 2.2 Froyo update by August.

It’s a bit old, but this picture clearly demonstrates the difference between having Flash support and Apple’s no-Flash stand:
