Lenovo’s IdeaPad Y560 is a high-end 15-inch entertainment notebook that’s highlighted by a pretty awesome spec and a display that supports 3D graphics. It’s not like Toshiba’s Nvidia 3D Vision-packing Satellite A655 3D Edition though; Lenovo uses ATI’s TriDef 3D tech to give you the stereoscopic 3D effect for games and movies on this 15.6-incher.
The Y560 comes with a lot of customization options, although the base system is pretty high-end without the upgrades. The entry-level system comes with a 2.26GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 4GBs of memory, ATI’s Mobility Radeon HD 5730 graphics for $1,049, while the top-end model packs a Core i7 CPU, 8GBs of memory, and a faster 500GB drive for $1,229. That drive is pretty special on its own too: Lenovo adds their new RapidDrive system that combines a standard hard drive with SSD for faster startups and load times.
Solid overall, although the 15.6-inch screen is a bit limited to a 1366 x 768 resolution.
The rest of the specs include Bluetooth and Wi-fi connectivity, a card reader, along with a 6-cell battery that’s listed to last for up to six hours on a charge.
