A new leak provides a look into what Samsung’s upcoming slate has running under the hood. If the leak turns out to be true, this could be a good (and fast) Android 2.2-based option if you don’t plan to buy into the whole iPad craze.
According to the Vietnamese post—who apparently got the info from a source in South Korea—the Samsung Galaxy Tab’s spec will include a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 16GBs of internal memory (plus a card slot for adding up to 32GBs more), and a 4000mAh battery. Everything’s tied up into a slim 370-gram frame fronted by a 7-inch Super AMOLED screen that promises awesome visibility under direct sunlight.
The leak also added that it could be renamed as the “Galaxy Tape,” which is pretty weird (since “Galaxy Tab” works pretty well), so we’re just going to chalk that up as a word that could have been lost in translation. For now.
