Acer has just announced the Aspire One 533, featuring an all-new, ultraslim design and a nicely updated spec centered on Intel’s latest Atom chips.
The 533 runs on Intel’s new 1.66GHz Atom N455 and 1.83GHz N475 processors, Mobile Intel NM10 Express Chipset, up to 2GBs of DDR3 memory and GMA 3150 graphics to give it a little more processing power. It’s also designed for a little entertaining-on-the-go, with a LED-backlit, 16:9 wide screen for crisp video and graphics, plus an integrated HDMI-out port for connecting it to a larger screen—all inside a frame that’s 25mm (0.98-inch) thick and weighs just over 1kg (2.2 pounds).
The rest of the spec includes a 250GB hard drive, Acer’s CrystalEye webcam for live chats and video conferences, and a full suite of connectivity options that includes Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-fi, LAN, and optional 3G. Acer lists the battery to last for up to 10 hours on a charge, plus a redesigned “travel friendly” AC adapter that’s lighter than the average AC brick, charges 35% faster, and comes with interchangeable AC converters.
Pricing is still to be confirmed, but it’s due out by July 1st in black, red or white colors.
