MSI also unveiled their versions of the digital pad during Computex, with the Wind Pad 100 and 110. Both feature 10-inch capacitive touch screens, but will come with totally different mobile platforms.
The Wind Pad 100 will come with a netbook’s spec, running on Intel’s Atom Z530 processor, 2GBs of memory, a 32GB solid state drive, and a Windows 7 Home Premium operating system under MSI’s Wind Touch user interface to make the Win7 OS more touch-friendly. Listed to weigh in at only 1.7 pounds, the Wind Pad 100 will feature an HDMI port for playing 720p videos to an HDTV, a webcam, and a pair of USB ports for connectivity.
The Wind Pad 110 comes with a lighter spec highlighted by a dual core Nvidia Tegra 250 chip and an Android operating system.
Both should arrive earlier than any of Asus’ Eee Pads, although the netbook-y spec didn’t help out much with the price: the Wind Pad 100 will cost $499, while the 110 will sell for $399. Unless something changes, they’ll be priced the same as the Eee Pads, but with a considerably lighter spec compared to the Intel Core 2 Duo system and larger screens on the Asus slates.
