Acer has begun shipping the 1825PT, the brand’s first convertible tablet notebook under the slim Timeline family, to the UK. Like the rest of Acer’s Aspire Timeline series, the new convertible will still focus on mobility with a slim and light frame, but with a mainstream spec that includes either a 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo processor or dual core Pentium processor.
The 1825PT centers on an 11.6-inch multi-touch screen fixed on a swivel that allows it to be twisted and folded into a slate or used as a notebook. The tight space makes for a spec that’s pretty basic—albeit pretty decent for a slim-and-light tablet, mind you—including integrated Intel graphics, 4GBs of memory (8GB max), a 320GB hard drive, card reader, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, and a Webcam.
The battery’s pretty notable though; in line with the Timeline family’s primary features, the 1825PT is listed to last up to 8 hours on a charge. That’s pretty goo, considering that this isn’t an Atom-based netbook.
It’s available now in the UK for £600. No word on when it becomes available to the rest of the world though, but it’s expected to become available soon.
