Razer announces pimped out Abyssus Mirror Special Edition mouse Razer Abyssus Mirror Special EditionThe title pretty much says everything right there, but in case the brand “Razer” didn’t ring a bell, they’re into making specialized PC peripherals that cater to gamers. The Abyssus Mirror Special Edition mouse is basically same as Razer’s existing Abyssus mouse, but it doesn’t look as boring.

The original Razer Abyssus: It's basically the same thing, but the Mirror Special Edition looks better.

That’s not to say that the vanilla Abyssus was boring to use. That’s not the case. In fact, despite the rather plain shell, vanilla Abyssus is a high-end performance mouse for gaming, featuring a 3,500dpi Razer Precision Infrared Sensor and switches under the mouse that toggles the sensitivity (between 450/1800/3500dpi) and polling rates (125/1000Hz) without having to go through software.

So what’s so special about the Mirror Special Edition? They improved the overall look, with a black chrome mirror finish so it looks more awesome. Not that you’d notice it that much, since mice are basically covered by your hand and your eyes and brain grapes are focused on whatever’s going on in the screen. But in case you wanted a performance mouse with a look to match, say, the Razer Lycosa Mirror Special Edition keyboard, then this is your mouse.

It’s up for pre-orders now, and scheduled to ship by May 14th for $50—exactly the same price as the vanilla Abyssus mouse.
