Not that we’re saying the Core i5 is slow by any means, but gamers—the hardware-demanding bunch that they are—would more likely be interested in something that runs a Core i7. Regardless of the hype of the top-end, quad-cored i7, Intel’s Core i5 processors should still be able to handle games well enough. It’s made to be more power-efficient too, listed to improve battery life by as much as 15%, while boasting performance by 30% thanks to Intel’s Turbo Boost tech. The real highlight is still the Radeon HD5850 anyway—an awesome GPU to be found on a gaming laptop.
The rest of this gaming laptop’s spec makes up for a solid performer for the price: 4GBs of DDR3 memory, a 500GB, 7200rpm hard drive, a 9-cell battery and a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 operating system.
