While the rest of the world waits (and go nuts waiting some more) for the international iPad launch, Apple has announced that the 3G-capable iPads will start shipping in the US on April 30th. In case you didn’t go for the basic Wi-fi-only version during the initial scramble last April 3rd and held out for the slightly more feature-packed Wi-fi + 3G model, details are here.
Pricing for the Wi-fi + 3G models are set at $629 for the 16GB unit, $729 for 32GBs and $829 for the range-topping 64GB model. For the bundled 3G connection, you’re also going to have to fork over $15 a month to AT&T for a 250MB data cap, or $30 for unlimited 3G use. You can cancel the data plans at any time if you find that you really don’t need the mobile connection (and just deal with the fact that you paid extra for a dead 3G feature on a slightly heavier iPad).
If you’ve already signed up for a pre-order, your unit will be delivered to you on April 30th and Apple Stores will be putting them up at 5PM, local time. If you feel like signing up for a pre-order just now, you’re going to have to wait: deliveries for late orders won’t arrive until May 7th.
