Not for normal gamers: Razer intros gaming mouse for lefties Razer DeathAdder Left Hand Edition 2

In the world of computer mice, only two kinds of people exist: left-handed people and normal people. Gaming accessory-maker Razer just proved that they care about lefties almost as much as they care about everyone else, by coming out with the DeathAdder Left Hand Edition: a gaming mouse built for southpaws. It’s a rather bold move considering the small market, since—at least according to whoever wrote the Wikipedia entry for “left-handedness”—lefties make up only 7 to 10% of the adult population (of which a small percentage could be gamers: a group that can be further divided into leftie gamers who’d be willing to spend for a gaming-grade mouse and leftie Farmville-type “gamers” who really don’t give a rat’s ass about mouse performance).

The DeathAdder also comes with five programmable buttons, on-the-fly sensitivity tweaks, and Ultraslick Teflon feet.

The DeathAdder Left Hand Edition will cost $60. No word on the release date yet, but Razer is running a Facebook-type contest on their product page to get the word out.  Check it out if you want a cheap, easy chance to score free Razer gaming gear.

Fun-fact-that-might-have-something-to-do-with-this-product:

Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff, Razer’s president, is left-handed. That might explain their willingness to come out with gaming mice for lefties. Now, we’re not categorically saying that this is the absolute reason for coming out with something like this, but we’re guessing that it might not have been hard to have the idea approved.

Also, Fred, our old leftie college buddy who used to smoke us during Friday night Quake LAN parties, loves to sniff on marker tips when he’s not working as a programmer. But that’s neither here nor there. Unless you’re Fred. In which case, Gotcha! Your secret’s out buddy!
