Acer has just announced the GD235HZ, a 23.6-inch HD monitor that features a fast 120Hz refresh rates for crisp graphics during fast-moving sequences. What else is a fast 120Hz panel good for? It’ll be able to handle Nvidia’s GeForce 3D Vision tech (the kit with digital 3D glasses) for awesome pop-in-your-face stereoscopic 3D gaming.

The GD235HZ's design perfectly matches the Predator's awesomely-orange panels.
That’s just about all you need to know. Designed for top-end performance for graphic pros and serious gamers (or at least gamers who are serious enough to plop down $400 for a 23-inch 3D LCD monitor), featuring a 16:9 wide aspect ratio, full 1080p HD support, a fast 2ms response time, and a high 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
As for the striking exterior design, well, they did say that the GD235HZ is good enough to cater to graphics professionals, but who are we kidding? This display was made for gaming, with an exterior design that perfectly matches the Aspire Predator, Acer’s awesome gaming system.
The display features HDMI input for connecting to high-end video cards and HD sources, plus the usual DVI and VGA for working with any other computer system.
Building a 3D Vision system:
If you’re looking to build a 3D gaming system around this display, remember that the 120Hz display only makes up part of the equation. You’re also going to need a compatible graphics card (check out the hardware support list here), Nvidia’s $200 3D Vision kit, and a Windows Vista or 7 operating system. Check out the list of games that support 3D Vision here.
