Alienware has finally released the two new full-sized gaming laptops that they showed off during the CES show. They’re actually updates of existing systems, now running on Intel’s new Core-platform processors with the 15-inch M15x starting with an Intel Core i3 processor, while the M17x—“the most powerful 17-inch gaming laptop in the universe”—runs on top-end Core i7 chips.

The M15x should prove to be more flexible in terms of price and specs, with system options that start out with a 2.13GHz Core i3 with 3GBs of memory, a 250GB hard drive, and GeForce GT 240M graphics. Options abound for a faster system, including solid state drives, GeForce 260M graphics, as well as Core i5 and Core i7 processors that include the top-end quad-core 2GHz Core i7 Extreme Edition. Prices start at $1,199.
Alienware’s flagship model, the 17-inch M17x, starts out with a faster 2.4GHz Core i5 processor, but comes with a higher spec-ceiling that can includes a Core i7 920XM CPU, dual GeForce GTX 280M or dual Radeon Mobility HD 4870s graphics, a Blu-ray drive, and 8GBs of memory for extreme, ball-busting (and wallet-draining) gaming performance from a laptop. Base price starts out at $1,799.
