Sony has announced a new DSLR cam for their CES lineup called the A450. Filling in somewhere along the entry-to-mid-range of the brand’s Alpha line of performance cams, the A450 is sort of a “lite” version of the existing $950 A550; it keeps the same 14.2MP CMOS sensor, but drops the Live View sensor and tilting LCD display.
The new A450 boasts a 7fps burst without continuous AF and a sensitivity range of ISO 200 to 12,800, making it good for shooting in low light. This cam is noteworthy for its battery though, with a pack that’s listed to last for 1,050 shots on a full charge—or about three days’ worth of photos for that couple you know. You know, the ones that think their baby’s the cutest thing in the world, but really, you just don’t see it. But they keep filling up your inbox (and everyone else’s) with the most boring stories, photos and videos ever (honestly, please stop. It’s freaking annoying). But we digress…
The rest of the A450’s feature set includes image stabilization, 9-point AF, a (frustratingly) small 2.6-inch display, a 95% field of view, and slots for using Sony’s Memory Stick Pro Duo and standard SD cards.

Prices aren’t available yet, but we do know that it’s set for a February release. We also know that previously-described-couple thinks their kid is the smartest child in the world. But we know better. (Really, if the kid’s so damn smart, he’d learn to use the toilet by now.)
