After launching everywhere else, Nokia has finally announced that the 5800 Navigation Edition has started shipping to the US. The touchscreen phone is physically similar to the 5800 XpressMusic, but remodeled to focus on GPS navigation with the addition of an A-GPS receiver, turn-by-turn navigation, and lifetime voice-guided navigation for North American maps with Ovi Maps.
The 5800 NE is a Symbian-based smartphone that features a 3.2-inch touchscreen, quad-band and 3.5G network support, 3.2MP camera, and a microSD card slot for storage (an 8GB card is included with the box). It’ll still come with the 5800 XM’s built-in stereo speakers and 3.5mm Nokia AV connector, and Music Player for mobile entertainment.
Available now for $299, the Navigation Edition’s package also comes with a car kit for easy mounting.
