Seagate intros Pulsar SSD for enterprise use

Storage company Seagate has been rather late to the party, but they’ve just entered the solid-state fray with a new line of SSDs called the Pulsar. Designed for enterprise blade and server applications, the Pulsar drive uses single-level cell (SLC) technology, delivers up to 200GB capacity, and is built in a 2.5-inch small form factor with a SATA3Gb/s interface.
It’s not necessarily released for the man on the street (or the computer geek in the basement), but this drive should deliver for the companies that need it: The Pulsar is listed to achieve a peak performance of up to 30,000 read IOPS and 25,000 write IOPS, as well as 240MB/s sequential read and 200 MB/s sequential write speeds.
