NEC outs 22-inch “green” screen for businesses

NEC has just announced the MultiSync EA222WMe, a 22-inch LCD desktop monitor that’s highlighted by it’s eco-friendly features. Designed for businesses, the EA222WMe features a LED-backlit panel that keeps the brightness while lowering power consumption by 20% and heat emissions by 61%.

The display features a 16:10 (1680 x 1050 resolution) widescreen panel held up by an adjustable stand that raises, pivots, tilts and swivels for a comfortable view. The display itself is listed to have a 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and a 5ms response time.

It also lists other eco features, including a three-step ambient light sensor that adjusts the brightness, an ECO mode, Intelligent Power Manager system, off-timer, and vacation switch to bring down power consumption.

The monitor comes with the typical VGA, DVI-D and DisplayPort connections, plus integrated speakers and a USB hub.

The EA222WMe is set to be released this month for $339.
