Samsung has introduced a new 27-inch monitor in Korea that features a built-in TV tuner. Tagged as the SyncMaster P2770HD, the display has an HD 1080p resolution as well as picture-in-picture functions that let users watch TV while working the PC.
The display features a 300cd/m2 brightness rating, a 50,000:1 contrast ratio, and a respectable 5ms response time. A pair of built-in speakers line the frame, enhanced with Dolby Digital Plus, SRS TruSurround HD, and 5.1 optical SPDIF out for sound. The connections at the back include HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, optical audio, auxiliary and composite audio, as well as component AV connections. Come to think of it, we don’t know why they still call this a monitor. It’s pretty much a 27-inch HDTV with a VGA port for use as a computer monitor.
The SyncMaster P2770HD’s price is set at $477 in Korea.
