JVC outs ultra-thin Blu-ray player
Home Entertainment, Set Top Kits - Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009
JVC has announced the XV-BP11, a low-cost slim-line Blue-ray player that recognizes only the Blu-ray 1.1 Profile, dropping internet features for a reduced price. Measuring only 1.5-inches high, the player sports a USB port for connecting external digital media sources, and recognizes the AVCHD (H.264) format used by HD camcorders.
The XV-BP11 comes with an HDMI 1.3 port for connecting to HD displays, along with RCA and coaxial connections for connecting to analog sets. It can also play back WMV videos, JPEG photos, and MP3/WMA audio files. Surround sound is also featured, with support for Dolby Digital and DTS.
The XV-BP11 is now available for $200.
