Samsung has just introduced a pair of desktop LCD monitors, the 2333HD and the 933HD+. Normally, they’d be your ordinary 23 and 19-inchers, but these two come with built-in TV tuners and remotes—essentially making them, well, almost LCD TVs.
Both widescreen (16:9 aspect ratios) are HD capable, with the smaller 933HD+ capable of 720p, while the 2333HD able to show a full HD 1080p resolution. Both models feature a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1, an average 5ms response time, built-in speakers, and more than the usual desktop monitor connections with component video, VGA, and HDMI ports for connecting to entertainment centers without going through the PC, but the 2333HD comes with an extra HDMI port and a better Dolby Digital sound system.
As a bonus, they’re built to look good, with Samsung’s usual curvy black gloss trim up front, and a stylized back-end… for people who like looking behind an LCD display.
Both the 933HD+ and the 2333HD are available now for $250 and $330 respectively.
