Lenovo updates IdeaPad S12 netbook with ION graphics Lenovo S12Lenovo now offers new configurations for their IdeaPad S12 netbooks that comes with Nvidia’s ION graphics. The 12-inch S12 previously came with the usual Intel Atom platform (Intel’s Atom CPU and GMA950 integrated graphics) plus 1GB of memory, but the new configurations give the netbook a bit more multimedia punch.

Thanks to the Nvidia ION upgrade, this version should be capable of smooth 1080p HD video playback and 3D gaming capabilities—a pretty good upgrade for a netbook. Of course, it still packs the original S12’s 1280 x 800 screen, but full HD resolutions are possible using another display, connected via the HDMI port.

Lenovo is offering two ION-packed IdeaPad S12 models that feature the same chassis and 1.6GHz Atom processor as the original $429 version, but with upgraded specs. A $599 package adds the 256MB ION graphics and upgrades the OS from Windows XP to Windows 7, and is fitted with more memory (2GB), a larger hard drive (250GB), and built-in Bluetooth. A top-end $649 model comes with 3GBs of memory and a 320GB hard drive.

The size and specs of this new Lenovo laptop/s are I think pretty ok in terms of it suits the current demand of the people to have a the right speed and the right amount of space. Moreover, it's really fascinating that they do not make laptops in high caliber but can still cater to the needs of people which i think is really good because there are a lot of people who cannot spend too much because of our economy today.
