
Active Media products has announced the upcoming launch of a new line of SATA solid state drives that run on a new Jmicron JM612 controller called the Predator-X7. To be offered in capacities from 32GB to 256GB, the new drive is built for fast file transfers.
The 8-channel flash controller and a 128MB cache, along with the SATA-II interface, the X7 is able to reach sequential read speeds of up to 230MB/sec and sequential write speeds of up to 180MB/sec. The controller also supports a USB port for easy drive cloning, while the drive itself features hardware ECC, bad block management, and wear leveling features for reliability and longevity.
The Predator-X7 will begin shipping in November, with prices that start at $149.
