Sanyo has just introduced two new high-end Dual Cameras, the VPC-HD2000A and the VPC-FH1A, and tagged them as the world’s first camcorders to offer compatibility with iFrame–a next-gen digital video format designed specifically to allow users to easily import, edit and share high quality videos.
The computer-friendly video format simplifies the process of working with video recorded from a camera, since the recorded video shares the same format to be used for editing. File sizes are kept small and transfers are done quickly, which basically means that the video you record on these two cams can be transferred to other devices—or uploaded onto YouTube—faster. The new format can also be used with both Mac and PC compatible applications due to the use of standards-based technologies such as H.264, AAC, MP4 and MOV.
The two new models are nearly identical camcorders in two different body designs. The HD2000A is in SANYO’s signature vertical form factor while the FH1A is built with a traditional horizontal camcorder body. Both cams are able to record 1080p videos at 60fps and snap 8-megapixel stills, and are equipped with digital image stabilizers and Face Chaser technology for tracking up to 12 faces. The FH1A comes with a 3-inch LCD screen, while the HD2000A comes with a smaller 2.7-inch display.
Both cams are now available, with the VPC-FH1A priced at $500, while the more compact HD2000A sells for $600.
