JVC releases Picsio pocket camcorder in the US
Digital Camcorders - Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

JVC has started shipping the Picsio GC-FM1—the company’s first pocket camcorder—to the US. The compact FM1 measures 53 x 97 x 17mm and sports a 2-inch color LCD, but packs quite a spec, with an 8MP CMOS sensor and a 4x digital zoom.
It’s also capable of recording 1080p HD video at 30fps, and can port it out to an HD display via an HDMI-out port, or to any standard TV via AV-out connections. A USB 2.0 port lets it transfer files to a PC. It doesn’t feature any built-in storage, but it comes with an SD card slot that can support SDHC cards.
The Picsio GC-FM1 is available in three colors (Sparkling Purple, Black Ice, and Brilliant Blue), and is currently listed at Amazon for $179.95.
